Five Things to Do Before Every Simulator Session
A good simulator session starts long before you take the seat. After years of training and checking pilots, the pattern is clear: the ones who prepare get far more out of every hour in the box.
1) Review the briefing. Know the profile, the weather and the failures you’re likely to see.
2) Know your procedures. Flows, callouts and memory items should be second nature before the motion comes on.
3) Focus. Leave the phone and the day’s distractions outside the simulator.
4) Perform. Fly the aircraft, talk to your crew, and manage the situation the way you would on the line.
5) Debrief honestly. Take the lessons from the session and apply them in the next one.
